My baby crawled around inside a playpen, while I was working 12-hour shifts, sanding the floor as well as removing the wallpaper. Ha! The house was starting to appear nice, however there were still many things left. The home would require an enormous amount of work as well as a passion of shopping. To stay the cost within my means I took my sons along with me as I searched for hidden treasures at estate sales. The weekly ritual was that we would stroll through garage and estate sales on Saturdays and Thursdays and purchase a variety of old and new pieces. My next task was to spend working on my projects outside in our driveway. It was kind of similar to the following... This is where my love for the restoration of antique furniture began. I kept on restoring furniture even after we had decorated our house. On the streets, I rented a small area and then sold a few items. In the end, I was stuffed with too lots of pieces to keep in the room available. Over 1000 people visited my house in one weekend, to shop for everything on the ground floor. My business Growing Days began here. The business I was running was growing however my family was also expanding. It was essential to find the right balance for me. I wished to balance being a mother and a successful business owner. Growing Days was the obvious decision. Nora, my 4th kid was born in the year 2013. My business was going well however I needed a break. I made the decision to take some breaks from my old furniture and slow down to stay at home with the kids. It was the right time. Within a couple of months, the phone began to ring. The people who called me were seeking help for their interior decorating and home improvements. Many of the people calling me came from people who visited my home at one of the furniture open house events. After that, I gradually took on more clients, at my own speed. Soon I had multiple customers and was operating as a home improvement business. If you'd have told me that this business of mine would turn into the premise of a tv show that airs on the DIY Network I probably would have thought you were crazy. Actually I still kind of laugh when I think about it.
